Check out some of her insights:

1. What are the elements of a successful Content Marketing program?

There are 3 parts to a well-oiled content marketing machine (or 'program'):

1. Ideation and Strategy

- SEO/non-SEO
- goals your audience
- topic research
- destination (your site + guest blog sites)
- originality of thought
- planning scheduling and consistency

2. Creation

A great production team! Writers, designers and other positions that assist in developing great content.

3. Post-Production

A thoughtful email marketing and social media promotion plan (or dedicated manager) in place.

2. What are the most common mistakes you have noticed marketers make with their Content Marketing?

Too many newbie/beginner marketers assume that one thing is = total content marketing strategy.

Not at all.

You may know your audience, but do you know your goals?

You may know your goals, but are you the right person to be writing the content?

You might have a talented writer and great content, but do you have a promotion plan?

3. In your opinion, which brand does Content Marketing really well? Why?

Content Marketing Institute - their website is chock-ful of amazing content from well-vetted guest contributors, and their annual event is amazing!

SmartBlogger.com - excellent long-form, comprehensive blog posts

4. What is your favourite content marketing tool (or hack or resource)?

It's a cross between SEMrush and BuzzSumo.

I love uncovering hot keywords to write content for (SEMrush) and I love finding industry trends no one has written on yet (BuzzSumo)!

5. What are your predictions for Content Marketing in 2019 and beyond?

Use more video in your content campaigns!

Video is hotter than ever.

But, don't ignore the power of long-form, written content on your site.

Quality is key, and consistency means results!

6. How will AI or Machine Learning impact Content marketing?

AI will bring smart technology to the forever human side of content marketing (great written content, an original idea).

It will not replace the human side, but continue to augment and enhance it.

7. What advice would you give to a content marketing newbie?

Get to know how to build a content marketing strategy before attempting to run and "go" on just one part of content marketing.

Knowing your whole strategy before creating one piece of content will get you much, much further when you do head into content creation!
